The Prime Minister of Canada has on 16 March 2020 announced that Canada is shutting its borders, to limit the spread of COVID-19, allowing only PR, Canadian and US Citizens into Canada at this time. Only four Canadian airports will be open to international flights starting Wednesday, March 18 namely: Toronto Pearson International Airport, Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Calgary International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport. Domestic flights within Canada will not be affected as well as flights from the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, Saint- Pierre and Miquelon.

He further mentioned that instructions will be given to commercial carriers to abide by this policy and which shall negatively impact your scheduled travel plans. In light of this, if you have already booked your ticket, we kindly request you to postpone your travel, contact your airline and inform them of your inability to travel as scheduled due to this “force majeure” and postpone same for an indeterminate date for now. You will only be able to inform them of a future travel date when this ban is officially waived by Canada, which will totally depend on the world situation concerning COVID-19 outbreak.
