Express Entry Skilled Trades stream: skilled trades occupations invited

 

On October 17, 2024, Ontario issued targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates in the Express Entry pool who may qualify for the Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream. This stream is designed for skilled trades workers with specific work experience in eligible National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who received an NOI must meet the following criteria:

  • Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: Candidates must have a CRS score between 405 and 435.
  • Work Experience: Candidates must demonstrate at least one year of cumulative full-time work experience in one of the eligible NOC codes, which must be listed as their primary NOC in their Express Entry profile. At least six months of this experience must be in the primary NOC.
  • Current Residence: Candidates must be residing in Ontario and hold a valid work permit at the time of application.
  • Language Proficiency: A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 in English or French is required.
  • Trade Certification: If applicable, candidates must have a valid license or certification from the Ontario College of Trades for compulsory trades.

Eligible NOC Codes

The eligible NOC codes for this stream primarily fall under Minor Group 633 and Major Groups 72, 73, and 82. Here are some examples:
