This is the fourth Express Entry draw for the year 2024, focusing on French language proficiency. In this round, the IRCC invited 1,400 candidates to apply for permanent residency. According to the tie-break rule, only those who submitted their profiles on April 07, 2024 at 02:06:46 UTC were selected. When multiple candidates had the same score, priority went to those who submitted their Express Entry profiles earlier.

During this new Express Entry draws under the French language proficiency category, there has been a slight increase in the CRS scores required for selection.

In 2024, Express Entry draws targeting French language proficiency occurred on February 1, February 29, March 26, and April 24. Express Entry Draw 287, on February 29, allocated 2,500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 336, emphasizing proficiency in French. This marked a significant drop compared to the previous draw, which demanded a minimum of 365, with a total of 2,500 ITAs issued, notably lower than the previous 7,000.

To qualify, candidates must meet specific requirements outlined on the Canadian government’s website. The Official Languages Action Plan 2023-2028 allocates $137.2 million over five years to bolster Francophone immigration to Canada, implementing measures throughout the immigration process.

Express Entry eligibility requires demonstrating proficiency in English or French through an approved language test, meeting minimum scores required by their program, and submitting the results when completing their profile. These tests assess writing, reading, listening, and speaking abilities, with required proficiency levels.

Another draw was held on the 23^rd of April at 16:54:59 UTC in which 2,095 candidates received invitation, necessitating a minimum CRS score of 529.

The tie-breaking rules for this draw were based on the date and time candidates submitted their Express Entry profiles, with the cut-off being November 08, 2023 at 17:50:29 UTC.

The number of invitations issued in each draw fluctuates, with some draws accommodating a smaller pool of candidates, potentially favouring those with higher CRS scores.
