This marked a significant drop compared to the previous draw, which demanded a minimum of 365, with a total of 2,500 ITAs issued, notably lower than the previous 7,000.

To qualify, candidates must meet specific requirements outlined on the Canadian government’s website. The Official Languages Action Plan 2023-2028 allocates $137.2 million over five years to bolster Francophone immigration to Canada, implementing measures throughout the immigration process.

During the past nine Express Entry draws under the General category for the year 2024, there has been a consistent downward trend observed in the CRS scores required for selection.

In the recent General Express Entry draws spanning from January 10, 2024, to April 23, 2024, several noteworthy observations can be made. These draws, which target high-performing candidates within the Express Entry pool eligible for Canada’s three Express Entry programs, have consistently displayed high cut-off thresholds, often exceeding 500 points, indicating a rigorous selection process. Despite variations due to the introduction of new categories in 2023, the frequency of these draws has remained steady, occurring roughly every two weeks.

Candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores around or below 500 have been advised to enhance their scores to bolster their chances of obtaining an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. The number of invitations issued in each draw fluctuates, with some draws accommodating a smaller pool of candidates, potentially favouring those with higher CRS scores.

Emphasizing the significance of selecting candidates likely to thrive and contribute to the Canadian economy, the Express Entry system underscores the importance of monitoring draw results and staying updated to assess one’s prospects of receiving an ITA. Overall, these General Express Entry draws have fostered a competitive atmosphere, motivating candidates to prioritize improving their CRS scores to augment their likelihood of securing an ITA for permanent residency in Canada.
