This is the 2nd Express Entry of January 2024 in which IRCC invited a total of 1,040 candidates to apply for permanent residency.

As per the tie-break rule, only candidates who submitted their profile before January 21, 2024 at 07:43:47 UTC were nominated. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

The most popular immigration programs under the Express Entry system which manage applications are the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.

The January 23, 2024 draw is the 280th draw and brings the total ITAs issued for this year 2024 to 2,550 (January 10th and January 23, 2024 Draws).

To recall, the previous Express Entry Draw held on January 10, 2024, invited a total of 1,510 candidates and the CRS of lowest ranked candidate invited was at 546.

This reflects Canada’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive immigration strategy outline in the Immigration levels plan for 2024 – 2026, which aims to admit 485,000 new Permanent residents in 2024, 500,000 in 2025 and 500,000 in 2026. ‘’This plan prioritizes economic growth, and supports family reunification, while responding to humanitarian crises and recognizing the rapid growth in Immigration in recent years’’.
