Express Entry Draw- Canadian Experience Class- July 31, 2024

Express Entry Draw:

Category:  Canadian Experience Class

Date and time of draw: July 31, 2024 at 14:48:13 UTC

Number of Invitations issued: 5,000

CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 510

On July 31, 2024, Ministerial Instructions for Express Entry system #307 were issued, inviting 5,000 candidates to apply for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class. The invitations were extended to those with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 510, with the cut-off rank being 5,000. The round took place at 14:48:13 UTC, and in the event of a tie at the lowest score, the tie-breaking rule was applied based on the date and time candidates submitted their Express Entry profiles, specifically those submitted by June 30, 2024, at 20:39:14 UTC. This draw marks the third Canadian Experience Class draw in 2024 and shows a decrease in the CRS score requirement as shown in the table below.

Compared to the previous CEC draw on July 17, 2024 which had a cut-off score of 515, this draw saw a 5 point decrease in the CRS score. This indicates a slight drop in competition for CEC candidates in the Express Entry pool.

The consistent draw schedule and decreasing CRS thresholds in recent months have been positive trends for CEC candidates. IRCC has been conducting program-specific draws every two weeks, alternating between the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and CEC. It’s expected this trend will continue in the coming months.

The July 31, 2024, draw was significant as it marked the ninth Express Entry draw for the month, making July a record-breaking month with a total of 25,125 invitations to apply (ITAs) issued. This surge in draws is indicative of the IRCC’s commitment to increasing immigration levels and addressing labor shortages across various sectors in Canada.Eligibility for the Canadian Experience Class.

Monthly Comparison and Future PredictionsThe monthly breakdown of ITAs issued in 2024 illustrates a clear upward trend:

  • January: 3,280
  • February: 16,110
  • March: 7,305
  • April: 9,275
  • May: 5,985
  • June: 1,499
  • July: 25,125

The dramatic increase in July can be attributed to the IRCC’s strategy to conduct more frequent draws, particularly targeting in-Canada candidates. This approach not only facilitates the immigration process for those already in Canada but also helps to stabilize the labor market by addressing immediate workforce needs.

To be eligible for the CEC program, candidates must:

  • Have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada in the last 3 years
  • Meet the language requirements in English or French
  • Plan to live outside the province of Quebec

Eligible candidates must submit an Express Entry profile and get a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence during Express Entry draws.

The CRS awards points for factors like age, education, work experience, language ability and other factors. The minimum CRS score required to receive an ITA varies in each draw.
