Express Entry 150th Draw_May 28, 2020

A total number of 3,515 invitations were issued to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates on May 28, 2020. The minimum CRS score dropped to 440. Candidates who submitted their profile before March 07, 2020, at 10:36:59 UTC, were issued Invitation To Apply (ITAs). If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

CRS score distribution of candidates in the Express Entry pool as of May 25, 2020

The numbers in this table reflect the total number of people in the pool overall, a few days before an invitation round. The score distribution may change as people submit new profiles and other profiles expire.

Note: The table numbers in italics are a detailed breakdown of the bold number immediately above.

It should be pointed out that May 28, 2020, CEC-specific Express Entry draw was the largest one since May 01, 2020, and has seen the lowest CRS requirement for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). It may be recalled that Express Entry candidates under the CEC category with a CRS score of 447 were issued ITAs in the May 15, 2020 draw.
We can notice a continued decrease in the cut-off CRS score in each of the last 6 CEC draws since the March 04, 2020 draw. The frequency of Express Entry draws usually affects the CRS cut-off score. Fewer candidates have time to create an Express Entry profile in the pool as a result of shorter intervals between each draw.

May 28, 2020, Express Entry draw brings the total ITAs issued so far this year to 42,100.

It is noteworthy to mention that IRCC has actually conducted a total number of 12 draws since March 18, 2020, targeting both candidates with a provincial nomination and those who had a Canadian Experience. One possible reason for this could be because candidates in the two categories are more likely to already be in Canada compared to those coming through other Express Entry-linked programs will not be affected by travel restrictions.

We can infer that 2020 has started off as a great year for Express Entry candidates despite the Coronavirus crisis. Since then IRCC has remained operational allowing candidates to submit their profile and has held program-specific draws focusing specifically on PNP and Canadian Experience Class applicants.
